METABOLIC SYNDROME, also known as Syndrome X, is a major and growing chronic disease problem worldwide in the wake of increased urbanization, excessive caloric intake, increasing obesity, and sedentary life habits. Some experts have stated that a country’s failure to address this escalating public health issue could bankrupt a country’s economic stability.
