What Is an EIS Assessment?
EIS, or Electro Interstitial Scan, is an assessment that measures electrical conductivity and the skin’s response to low-level electrical signals. The assessment is performed through contact plates placed on the hands, feet, and other designated areas to collect information about the body’s responses.
It is non-invasive, does not require a blood test, and usually takes only a short time. The results are intended to provide supporting information for an initial health assessment. They cannot diagnose disease, confirm abnormalities in specific organs, or replace blood tests and other standard medical examinations.
Who May Be Suitable for an EIS Assessment?
The assessment may be considered for generally healthy adults who would like additional information to support personalised health planning. A health history review and suitability assessment should be completed before the procedure.
Individuals who are pregnant, have a pacemaker, an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, or other electronic devices implanted in the body should inform the healthcare team in advance. Those with wounds or skin irritation at the contact areas, as well as metal implants or artificial joints in the arms or legs, should also seek advice before the assessment, as these factors may affect suitability or the accuracy of the results.
Aftercare
You may normally return to your usual daily activities immediately after the assessment, and no recovery period is generally required. Keep the areas that contacted the device clean. Inform the healthcare team or consult a doctor if unusual redness, itching, or irritation occurs.
The results should be reviewed by a doctor together with your medical history, symptoms, physical examination, and other standard test results. Do not use EIS results alone to adjust medication, supplements, or your healthcare plan.
